Soul-Rhapsody

   Gladys King puttered around her small, dusty, old home. Time had taken its toll on her. She was small, very skinny, and slouched over with a slight hunchback. Her skin resembled dirty, crumpled paper and her hair was sparse and shock white.   An ancient TV set in the corner fizzled with white noise, partially illuminating a cluttered living room. Outdated furniture took up most of the space: a green sofa, two yellow recliners, a wooden coffee table, and several wooden bookshelves crammed with dusty books and knick-knacks.
